good morning. here's a look at your fox5 traffic solutions let's begin with your drive here are the accidents to watch out and alternate routes you can use listed on our maps here are the construciton areas to look out for and alternate routes listed on our maps back to the news desk the 2016 nevada caucus wrapped- up tuesday with donald trump winning in convincing fashion. trump received nearly double the amount of votes as the second- place finisher... marco rubio. fox five's nick lagrange joins us in studio with a look at the results and reaction from the donald himself. nick? dave and maria -- this was a huge or -- 'yuge' -- win for donald trump, here in nevada. the official final vote count is not in... ...but trump is the undisputed g-o-p frontrunner in nevada with just under 46 percent

vote. so far -- trump has taken twelve of the state's 30 delegates. it's a close race for second place. rubio is currently the second-place holder at just under 24 percent... ...while ted cruz is in third at 21.4 percent. both rubio and cruz currently hold 5 of the state's delegates. if you do the math on that -- there are still eight nevada delegates yet to be awarded, though it's safe to assumethe majority of those will be trump's. once trump was projected as the nevada caucus winner -- the front-runner touted his campaign's ability to appeal to a wide audience. "we won with young, we won with old. we won with highly educated. we won with poorly educated. i love the poorly educated." after two primaries and two caucuses, trump has a commanding lead. he is projected to hold 79 delegates overall, when the final nevada results are tallied. ted cruz is in

kasich has five, and carson has three. the next important date on the g-o-p primary calendar is march first -- also known as 'super tuesday.' alabama, alaska, arkansas, georgia, massachusetts, minnesota, oklahoma, tennessee, texas, vermont, and virginia will hold their primaries. 595 delegates will be up for grabs. a group of people claiming to support donald trump showed up outside one valley caucus site wearing traditional ku klux klan robes. these pictures were sent to us from fox5 viewers

one sign read "president trump put up that wall." one person said the group was also chanting "take our country back." people on both sides of the aisle took offense to the display. for the most part... things went fairly smooth last night... especially considering the larger turnout. at durango high school... voters got in and out in about thirty minutes. one caucus-goer said the main difference he saw from years past... was there was a lot more people.. "we caucused last time in 2012 and there was maybe 30 people and today is just crazy its such a huge difference." we were told... some sites ran out of ballots. one woman sayd she was at palo verde high school and no one even bothered to check her i-d before handing her a ballot. party organizers say about 42 thousand people registered for tuesday's caucus. in more local news... police are hoping surveillance video will help them track down three people accused of breaking into a

home near north lamb and las vegas boulevard north last month. police say the men ransacked the home taking money and jewelry with them. one of the suspects even took the home's surveillance camera! but metro says was uploading video to the internet during the robbery. about this is the thieves are pretty brazen. they begin to ransack the homes looking under couch eventually get away with jewelry and large amount of money. for us its really important for us to follow all leads possible." police say you should always file a report first before posting anything like this on social media. now detectives need your help identifying these men. police say all three suspects are black males in their early 20's. one suspect has shoulder-lengh dreadlocks. another wears

twists. the third suspect is a heavy-set man with short hair. anyone with information on this burglary is asked to call crimestoppers at 702-385-55-55. the gunman accused in a deadly shooting near the las vegas strip will make his first appearance before a judge today. police say ex- convict omar talley got into a fight with the victims last friday inside the parking garage at the at planet the fight continued a few blocks away... opened fire on the victim's car, killing two women and injuring a man. talley remains in jail this morning. a strip performer... is recovering after an accident on stage. a rehearsal of "the beatles- love" was shut down monday night when that performer was injured and sent to the hospital. you looking at video from a previous rehearsal. the performer fell through an opening in the stage -- but cirque would not confirm the circumstances of the accident. the updated version of "love" is

weather 24/7 with cassandra jones and traffic solutions. this is fox5 news this morning. a strong storm system is being blamed for at least three deaths in louisiana and mississippi. a tornado touched down in southern louisiana yesterday, destroying trailers at an r-v park two people were killed at the r-v park in convent. authorities were still looking for people possibly trapped under the debris. seven people are in critical condition after the storm... dozens more are being treated for their injuries. that same storm system made a mess in pensacola, florida. this was the scene last night as strong winds and heavy rains moved across the gulf coast states. a tornado touched down in pensacola... destroying homes, flipped over cars and ripping trees and power poles from the ground.

expectations of young children may be fueling the increase in "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder" or a-d-h-d cases...globally. university of miami researchers say the rise in a-d-h-d cases coincide with the growing demands on young children. they point out since the 1970s, elementary school children have been getting more and more homework. the researchers note many other things have changed since the 1970s.. and it's not possible to pin the rise of a-d-h-d cases on any one trend. but they believe greater academic pressure would set the stage for more a-d-h-d cases. health experts add while this study shows a link.. a-d-h-d is brain- based and not caused by environmental factors. before you grab a candy bar to get your sugar fix, check the label... mars is recalling candy bars in at least 55 countries. the recall

for multiple fires. in january amazon began offering refunds to customers who purchased the boards from their site. amazon is the third major retailer to halt hoverboard sales, including toys "r" us and target. mcdonald's continues to revamp their menus. the resturant chain is now doubling down on breakfast. one of their new additions includes a new yogurt smoothie. mcdonald's is partnering with greek yogurt maker chobani. the yogurt brand will be used in parfaits and smoothies. mickey d's is also offering two breakfast bowls. one is made with egg whites, turkey sausage, spinach and kale. the other has scrambled eggs and chorizo, along with a hash brown. the new items are currently only avaliable in their southern california locations, the company says they plan to expand them soon. a teen with terminal cancer gets married to the girl of his dreams ...

always wished for... and it's all thanks to the love and support of not only his friends and family... but complete strangers in his community. luke blanock was diagnosed with ewing's carcinoma in 20-13. his dad says the 18-year old has already undergone 24 rounds of chemo.. and more t tn 100 radiation treatments. and while he was fighting the battle of his life... he didn't for one moment..let his love for his girlfriend natalie falter. so his friends, family...and whole town.. banded together and raised enough money to give him the wedding he always wanted. his dad says he was ecstatic. pictures making the rounds of a little boy and his service dog. these are photos of the two from the little boy's facebook page. 9-year-old james isaac from wellington, new zealand is autistic and has trouble speaking and communicating. mahe, his service dog helps him stay calm, and provides protection for the boy.

hospital visit, mahe was spotted comforting james while preparing for an m-r-i scan. james' mother says before mahe, her son had trouble coping with everyday situations, and now he is at ease and able to enjoy different situations. it would be pretty hard to find someone cuter than matt damon... but this is close. how about a mini- matt... or a little leo?? see how these kids are upstaging the big stars. the president and first lady will honor music legend ray charles tonight in washington. they're hosting a tribute to the iconic singer, songrwiter and musician as part of the "in performance at the white house" series. celine dion returns to the stage at caesars palace for the first time since the her husband rene angelil passed away. more's sean mcallister was there and has more on celine's to her one true love.

week. the official final vote count is not in... ...but trump currently holds just under 46 percent of the nevada caucus vote. so far -- trump has taken twelve of the state's 30 delegates. 'super tuesday' is scheduled for march first. 11 states will hold primaries, putting nearly 600 delegates up for grabs. that means the gap between trump and the other candidates could close very quickly. or -- trump's lead could become nearly insurmountable. guess which outcome trump's banking on. "we're going to do very well in ohio. we're beating the governor. it's always nice to be beating the governor. it's going to be an amazing 2 months. we might not even need the 2 months folks, to be honest." that was obviously a swipe at ohio governor -- john kasich. new polling shows trump has about a five percent lead over kasich in ohio. again -- 'super tuesday' is next

595 delegates will be up for grabs. the month of march will be a very decisive one. dave and maria? ted cruz rounded out the top three. the texas senator says he won't be discouraged by the third place finish because he believes he's the only candidate who can beat donald trump. "at this point we've had four primaries. history teaches us that nobody has ever won the nomination without winning the first three primaries... and there are only two people who have won one of the first two primaries. in more local news... metro says the california woman found dead inside a laundry chute at the d hotel downtown actually fell 15 stories. kalli medina- brown was in town over the weekend celebrating her birthday with her husband. according to metro, medina- brown fell from the 18th to the 3rd floor where hotel staff found her body. metro is calling her death an accident. "based on evidence at the scene in conjunction with witness statements and employee statements we don't believe that this female was the victom of a crime or homicide or anything of that matter" the clark county coroner is still trying to determine how medina-brown died. her family says it has hired it's own team of lawyers to investigate her death. the man accused run that killed a north las vegas toddler appears "hopefully he won't ever see the light he left the scene of an accudent when he was intoxicated." evelyn green died february 7th. north las vegas

martinez hit her, apologized to the family and then took off. garcia-martinez is due back in court next month. sheriff joe lombardo wants to step up patrols on the las vegas strip and downtown. sheriff lombardo is now asking for more funds to hire an additional 74 officers to work in these high-tourists areas. in national news... protesters are coming together to show support for apple. this after the company refused to crack into an i- phone used by one of the san bernardino shooters. with the fbi-- while facebook founder mark zuckerberg-- disagrees. in international news.... the canadian prime minister will make history as the country's first leader to participate in toronto's pride parade. justin trudeau was elected as canada's second- youngest prime minister in october. he will headline the july 3rd parade along with activists from black lives matter. las vegas fire and rescue is teaming up with the henderson fire department -- to host a series of drills for fire crews across the country. they're training at the high roller this morning... thats where we find fox5's shannon moore --- she's live with more the high roller is the perfect place to train -- its high tech..... its structually unique -- and is what crews describe as an "intense rescue" the department's hosting

orlando and new york city -- orlando has a similar wheel to the high roller, and new york is in the funding phase to build theirs. from evacuation drills to team building exercises crews tell me roughly 30- thousand dollars was spent on things like ropes, harnesses and trolleys to ensure a safe resue in case of an emergency. training shouldn't affect business today - organizers plan to wrap things up mid- morning before the high roller opens. now this isn't the first time crews have trained here. covered their exercises before to see those drills are expected to start around 7. guns in the workplace. the 2016 nevada caucus wrapped- up tuesday with donald trump winning in convincing fashion. trump received nearly double the amount of votes second-place candidate -- marco rubio -- received. fox five's nick lagrange joins us in studio with a look at the results and reaction from the donald himself. nick? dave and maria -- this was a huge or -- 'yuge' -- win for donald trump, here in nevada. the official final vote count is not in... ...but trump is the undisputed g-o-p frontrunner in nevada with just under 46 percent of the caucus vote. so far -- trump has taken twelve of the state's 30 delegates. it's a close race for second place. rubio is currently the second-place holder at just under 24 percent... ...while ted cruz is in third at 21.4 percent. both rubio and cruz currently hold 5 of the state's delegates. if you do the math on that -- there are still eight nevada delegates yet to be awarded, though it's safe to assumethe majority of those will be trump's. once trump was projected as the nevada caucus

front-runner touted his campaign's ability to appeal to a wide audience. "we won with young, we won with old. we won with highly educated. we won with poorly educated. i love the poorly educated." after two primaries and two caucuses, trump has a commanding lead. he is projected to hold 79 delegates overall, when the final nevada results are tallied. ted cruz is in second with 16, rubio third with 15, kasich has five, and carson has three. the next important date on the g-o-p primary calendar is march first -- also known as 'super tuesday.' alabama, alaska, arkansas, georgia, massachusetts, minnesota, oklahoma, tennessee, texas, vermont, and virginia will hold their primaries. 595 delegates will be up for grabs.

the display. for the most part... things went fairly smooth last night... especially considering the larger turnout. at durango high school... voters got in and out in about thirty minutes. one caucus-goer said the main difference he saw from years past... was there was a lot more people.. "we caucused last time in 2012 and there was maybe 30 people and today is just crazy its such a huge difference." we were told... some sites ran out of ballots. one woman sayd she was at palo of ballots. one woman sayd she was at palo verde high school and no one even bothered to check her i-d before handing her a ballot. party organizers say about 42 thousand people registered for tuesday's caucus. in more local news... police are hoping surveillance video will help them track down three people accused of breaking into a valley home. it happened at a home near lamb and north las vegas boulevard last month. police say the men ransacked the home taking money and jewelry with

suspects even took the home's surveillance camera! but metro says luckily the camera was uploading video to the internet during the robbery. "what's notable about this is the thieves are pretty brazen. they begin to ransack the homes looking under couch cushions drawers eventually get away with jewelry and large amount of money. for us its really important for us to follow all leads possible." police say you should always file a report first before posting anything like this on social media. now detectives need your help identifying these men. police say all three suspects are black males in their early 20's. one suspect has shoulder-lengh dreadlocks. another wears his hair in short twists. the third suspect is a heavy-set man with short hair. anyone with information on this burglary is asked to call crimestoppers at

the gunman accused in a deadly shooting near the las vegas strip will make his first appearance before a judge today. police say ex- convict omar talley got into a fight with the victims last friday inside the parking garage at the miracle mile shop at planet hollywood. the fight continued a few blocks away... police say talley opened fire on the victim's car, killing two women and injuring a man. talley remains in jail this morning. fire crews from across the country are in las vegas today for hands on training atop the high roller. fox5's shannon moore is live at the linq wih details this is pretty cool, firefighters from orlando and new york city will be arriving here at 7 for heavy rescue training. they're teaming up with the henderson fire department and

going to load it up." democratic presidential candidates hillary clinton and bernie sanders, both support the president's plan to close that detention facility. in more local news... metro says the california woman found dead inside a laundry chute at the d hotel downtown actually fell 15 stories. kalli medina- brown was in town over the weekend celebrating her birthday with her husband. according to metro, medina- brown fell from the 18th to the 3rd floor where hotel staff found her body. metro is calling her death an accident. "based on evidence at the scene in conjunction with witness statements and employee statements we don't believe that this female was the victom of a crime or homicide or anything of that matter" the clark county coroner is still trying to determine how medina-brown died. her family says it has hired it's own team of lawyers to investigate her death.
